District level essay competition
The competition was organized at Government Senior Secondary School Civil Lines, Patiala under the guidance of District Education Officer (SEO) Patiala Shalu Mehra and under the supervision of Deputy DEO Secondary Patiala Dr. Ravinderpal Singh. The theme of the competition was ‘Empowering Youth to End HIV/AIDS: Awareness, Prevention and Compassion’. The students who secured first and second positions at the block level participated in the competition. Two students from each block participated in the competition.
District National Population Program Coordinator Head Master Jagmeet Singh informed that in the competition, the student of Government Senior Secondary School Mansoorpur performed brilliantly and secured the first position. Government Senior Secondary School Wajidpur came second and P.M. Shri Government Senior Secondary School Kahan Singh Nabha stood third. Apart from this, special prizes were given to Government High School Ramgarh Moti Bagh and Government Senior Secondary School Chunagra.
The students who participated in the competition had earlier showcased their talent in block level competitions as well. The teachers encouraged the students and motivated them to participate more in such social awareness programmes.
At the end of the event, the winning students were honored by the Principal of DIET, Sandeep Nagar and Deputy DEO Secondary Patiala, Dr. Ravinderpal Sharma.
Dr. Ravinderpal Singh Deputy DEO Patiala said that providing correct and scientific information about HIV/AIDS to the youth is the need of the hour. The district level winners will also be honored by the Honorable Health and Family Welfare Minister Punjab Dr. Balbir Singh at Punjabi University Patiala on August 12.
