Unwavering solidarity from Indian-American leaders underscores the shared commitment to peace, security, and the well-being of nations

WASHINGTON: In a unified show of support, prominent Indian-American leaders, including Republican presidential nominees Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy, stood firmly with Israel in the aftermath of a devastating surprise attack by Hamas that claimed the lives of hundreds and left over 2,000 injured in southern Israel. The Palestinian militant organization Hamas unleashed a series of rocket attacks on Saturday, targeting southern Israel.

Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley strongly condemned the actions of Hamas and its supporters, emphasizing their hostility towards both Israel and the United States. She highlighted the gravity of the situation, stating, “Hamas and the Iranian government that is supporting it were chanting ‘the end of Israel, the end of America’. We have to remember that. We stand with Israel because Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and the supporters of Iran hate us. We are really needed right now.”

Vivek Ramaswamy, a presidential nominee from the Republican Party, echoed Haley’s sentiment, underlining the importance of securing borders and drawing parallels to the vulnerability faced by the United States. He stated, “If it can happen there, it can happen here also.” Ramaswamy emphasized the critical need for border security and expressed his support for Israel, considering the current security situation.

Mukesh Aghi, President and CEO of the US India Strategic and Partnership Forum (USISPF), also expressed solidarity with Israel, advocating for a strong stance. Aghi emphasized his support with an Indian flag in the background of his post. Bharat Barai, a prominent leader of the Indian-American community, condemned Hamas and Hezbollah as the most brutal terrorist organizations globally.

Indian-American Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi affirmed the United States’ complete support for the people of Israel against this “heinous” terrorist attack, emphasizing their right to self-defense. Similarly, Indian-American Member of Parliament Dr. Ami Berra stressed the necessity for the US to support Israel’s right to defend its sovereignty, especially during such challenging times.
