The Chhattisgarh government has launched an online portal (cgpurc.cgstate.gov.in) to verify degrees and academic records issued by private universities in the state, as part of efforts to curb fraudulent qualifications and improve oversight of private higher education institutions. Academic and institutional information related to all private universities operating in Chhattisgarh will be available through the platform. Students, parents, employers and other institutions will be able to check academic credentials without having to approach individual universities for verification.

The Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) Investor Protection Fund (IPF) has distributed its Amar Chitra Katha investor education comic series to nearly 21,000 students across 60 schools, in collaboration with Yuva Unstoppable. Developed by CDSL IPF in collaboration with Amar Chitra Katha, the illustrated comics make financial literacy more accessible and introduce age-appropriate concepts related to saving, investing and responsible financial behaviour. The comics are available in English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati and Urdu.
A new study by researchers from the University of Cambridge, the U.K., showed that young Indians are engaging with climate learning, climate action and sustainability-related aspirations. It also suggests that climate education is helping young people move beyond climate anxiety towards informed action, future-ready skills and purpose-driven career aspirations.

Researchers from BITS Pilani and institutions in Taiwan have contributed to a multi-institutional review that highlights an important challenge in treating brain diseases. Published in Ageing Research Reviews, the review explains how the aging brain changes over time, affecting blood flow, the movement of fluids, waste removal, and immune activity.
A study by LeapScholar shows that Indian MBA aspirants considering New Zealand are placing permanent residency alongside cost and career outcomes at the centre of their study-abroad decision. Among New Zealand MBA conversations analysed by LeapScholar, 53% raised permanent residency. The comparable figures were 38% for Germany, 35% for the UK, 29% for the UAE and 26% for Ireland. Canada recorded a higher rate at 58%, but on a considerably smaller, directional cohort.

A study by Sentibenla Pongener, Prof. Kaushal Kumar Jha and Shagolsem Herojit Singh from the Department of Agricultural Extension Education, Nagaland University, has highlighted the need for location-specific agricultural extension strategies to encourage sustainable farming among pineapple growers in the state. A paper was published in the Indian Journal of Extension Education.

VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology inaugurated a biogas plant at the its hostel complex to convert food waste generated on campus into renewable energy for cooking and organic manure. It has partnered with KPMG to develop the biogas plant.
Awards
Team Agnipaksha from VIT Bhopal University conducted two successful hot firings of its indigenously developed hybrid rocket engine at the 2026 Race2Space International Propulsion Competition in the United Kingdom. The team secured the eighth position globally among hybrid propulsion teams.
Ramkarthick and Abhishek. R were declared winners of the Built with AI Championship, a hackathon hosted by Masai School. Their project, Interview Cracker, is an AI-powered solution designed to help job-seekers prepare effectively for interviews.
Team Tactical Minds won the Industry Case Competition, which was part of AiXcelrate 4.0, hosted by IIT Mandi’s School of Management. The theme of this AI and leadership conclave was Next Gen AI-Leadership: Beyond the Horizon to Monetising AI.
Order of Linus from the Institute of Aeronautical Engineering, Hyderabad, secured the first prize in the Hardware Track of Convergence 2K26, the annual technical symposium hosted by VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology. In the Software Track, VAGAbonds from VNR VJIET won in the Fintech domain, Athena’s Crew from VNR VJIET won in the Healthcare domain; Hawkins Crew, with members from VNR VJIET and KMIT, won in Procurement and Logistics domain, and ZeroOne from the Institute of Aeronautical Engineering, Hyderabad, won in Climate, Energy and Green Technologies domain.
