Research
A team of IIT Guwahati researchers developed a cyanobacteria-based method to remove lead from water,and the findings were published in Journal of Hazardous Materials. Another team developed a corrosion-resistant epoxy coating for steel in saline environments, and the findings were published in Advanced Engineering Materials.
Nagaland University scientists along with researchers from ICAR-Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute, University of California San Francisco, Dibrugarh University, Tocklai Tea Research Institute, and Diphu Medical College and Hospital, studied soil health impacts of diverse land use in Dhansiripar, highlighting the need for sustainable land management. The findings were published in Environmental Monitoring and Assessment.
K. B. Mishra and Ankit Sharma, researchers, IIT Roorkee, have transferred a technology titled A Novel Test Stand and Method to Measure the Burning Rate of Flammable Liquids to Swan Environmental Pvt. Ltd. It provides a new test system and method for correctly measuring the maximum burning rates of flammable liquids.
Inductions and convocations
LPU’s Centre for Distance and Online Education held induction programmes for new distance and online students for the July–August 2025 session.
Manipal Academy of Higher Education held its 33rd convocation where 1,645 students received their degrees. Prof. Hany Eteiba, President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, was the chief guest.
