Events

IIIT Delhi hosted a delegation from the European Union led by Roxana Mînzatu, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission. A roundtable discussion on Women in STEM in which undergraduate and graduate students shared their experiences, aspirations, and challenges in STEM fields.

IIT Kanpur’s National Information Centre of Earthquake Engineering, concluded a three-day workshop on Teaching Earthquake-Resistant Structures in Undergraduate Architecture Design Studio. The workshop brought together faculty members from architecture programmes across India, aiming to enhance teaching methodologies for seismic-resistant design.

IMT Ghaziabad inaugurated its Centre for Financial Markets with the keynote speaker being Navneet Munot, Managing Director and CEO, HDFC Asset Management Company Limited. The centre will integrate fintech, AI-driven investments, and sustainable finance courses into its curriculum.

The Millennium School, Noida, unveiled an Artificial Intelligence Lab featuring live student-led AI and robotics demonstrations.

Mohan Babu University’s Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, School of Engineering, in collaboration with AICTE IDEA Lab concluded the second international conference on Intelligent Electronics and Communication Devices. Over 200 research papers were presented.

Satyam Fashion Institute, Noida, hosted Satyam’s Triptych 2025, its annual graduation show featuring designs by graduating students.

Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies, in collaboration with IIT Kanpur, hosted the North Zone SPOC Felicitation-cum-Awareness Workshop under the SWAYAM NPTEL initiative, Ministry of Education, Government of India. Educators, researchers, and students from across eight states explored the future of MOOCs and interdisciplinary learning.

Noida International University organised an Educators Meet and felicitation ceremony that saw participation from over 70 educators.

The College Board, known for the SAT exam and Advanced Placement (AP) Programme, will transition 28 AP exams to a digital format starting this May. Sixteen exams including AP English, AP Psychology, and AP Computer Science, will be fully digital. Twelve exams such as AP Biology and AP Chemistry will have a hybrid approach.

RED Health has introduced RedVersity to offer medium-duration industry readiness programmes, including EmergePro, a specialised finishing school to prepare UG and PG students for careers in emergency medical services and allied healthcare.

O.P. Jindal Global University organised a three-day convention on Towards an Inclusive Future and a Gender Just World. Anupriya Patel, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilisers gave the valedictory address.

Arena Animation hosted the National Student Meet 2025 to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations and to equip students with practical skills and exposure.

Kshitiz Chingawat, a third-year Computer Science Engineering student from Medicaps University, has developed and patented a traffic light system that doubles as an air purifier to tackle the persistent problem of air pollution at traffic intersections.  The institution also concluded the 33rd National Laser Symposium, in collaboration with the Department of Atomic Energy, Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences, and Indian Laser Association. Prof. Indranil Manna, Vice-Chancellor, BIT Mesra, Ranchi, inaugurated the event which saw participation from around 400 scientists, researchers, industry experts, and academicians.

BIMTECH hosted the Rural Immersion Programme 2025: Reflection Day. Students, faculty, industry leaders, government officials, and rural women participated. Over 500 students had first-hand exposure to rural life and its challenges. Three teams were recognised for their efforts to develop community-driven solutions for rural development.

Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS) Rohini concluded TEDx JIMS Rohini, Delhi on the theme Seeds of Transformation: Cultivating Minds, Connecting Worlds. Speakers included Vinay Kumar Swamy, country head of Pearson India; Raul Handa, founder and CEO of the Forttuna Group; Shobha Lal, founder of ASMII; Dr Vineet Govind Gupta, Unit Head of Medical Oncology, Fortis;  Ananya Khera, founder of Ditya Bakers; and Jigyasa Tandon, psychologist and founder of PSY-FI: For a Healthy Mind, among others.

The Master School of Management, in collaboration with the Association of Indian Management Schools, hosted the 35th Annual Management Education Convention, on the theme Perpetuum: Aviral, Advitiya and Anant. Prof. Harivansh Chaturvedi, Director General, IILM Lodi Road and Alternate President, EPSI India, was conferred the Ravi J. Matthai National Fellowship Award for his contributions to Management education.

Nischal’s Smart Learning Solutions launched LearnTopia, an after-school learning centre which offers students a hands-on approach to explore Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Environmental Science through real-world applications and AR and VR technologies.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru, hosted the third edition of PRAKALP’25, its annual science expo, which saw participation from over 250 students across 13 colleges. Dangeti Srinivasa Rao, Senior Director of Aerospace Engineering at Honeywell India, spoke at the event.

Research

Ph.D. Scholar and Ramanujan Research Associate Anitya Kumar Gupta and SRP Biotechnology students, Aditi Kulshreshtha and Sataditya Jana  from Shoolini University have developed a telemedicine device for health monitoring which integrates real-time health data tracking, virtual consultations, prescription services, and doorstep medicine delivery.

Prof. Angana Sarkar, Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering, research graduates Kasturi Poddar and Debapriya Sarkar, and research scholar Pritam Bajirao Patil from NIT Rourkela have developed a process to remove pharmaceutical pollutants from wastewater. A paper was published in the Journal of Water Process Engineering

Researchers from Newcastle University and the Wellcome Sanger Institute, the U.K., have created a single-cell atlas of prenatal human skin to understand how skin forms and what goes wrong in disease. The findings were published in Nature.

Researchers from IIT Roorkee have identified a new possibility for treating Chikungunya and also introduced an eco-friendly packaging solution designed to extend the shelf life of fruits and vegetables by one week.

Vishakha Chauhan, Assistant Professor, Marketing, IIM Lucknow; Aqueeb Sohail Shaik, Assistant Professor, Strategy, IIM Sambalpur, and Mansi Gupta, Assistant Professor, Marketing, Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, Delhi, published a paper in the Journal of Hospitality Marketing and Management on how  Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives influenced consumer decisions in the hospitality industry. 

Convocations

The Mahatma Gandhi Centre for Skill Development, an initiative by Medhavi Skills University, in collaboration with Helping Hands NGO, hosted a convocation ceremony for the first batch of students from its Plumbing and Electrical programmes. 

C.K. College of Engineering and Technology and C.K. College of Education held a convocation ceremony for 980 graduates. K. Abdul Rahim, Founder of Mount Road Bilal, was the chief guest. 

Vijaybhoomi University held its sixth convocation for 16 students from The True School of Music (TSM) and Vijaybhoomi School of Design. Uday Vishwanath Deshpande, Indian mallakhamb coach and Padma Shri awardee, was the chief guest.

Awards and rankings

Rajan Yadav, Amit Datta, Hiten Chandwani, Akshat Patil, and Rickiy Trivedi, Civil Engineering students from ITM Vocational University, won first prize at Tech Expo 2025 for their project was Satrangi: Paints from Natural and Waste Materials.

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s SPJIMR was re-accredited by the Association of MBAs and accredited by the Business Graduates Association for the first time.

IIM Kozhikode was ranked 141 in the Business and Management Studies category in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025.

Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences ranked 26 globally in the Dentistry category QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025.

Shoolini University was ranked ninth globally in Environmental Sciences, sixth in Agriculture and Forestry, and 15 in Biological Sciences categories QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025.

O.P. Jindal Global University was ranked first in Law and Legal Studies, Politics and International Studies, and in Arts and Humanities, second in Economics and Econometrics; third in Social Sciences and Management, sixth in Business and Management studies, and was among the top 451-500 globally QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025.

Istituto Marangoni was ranked among the world’s top 100 universities for Art and Design QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025.

Les Roches was ranked second globally, while Glion Institute of Higher Education was ranked sixth in Hospitality and Leisure Management QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025.

MoUs and partnerships

The Central University of Tamil Nadu signed an MoU with the National University of Advanced Legal Studies to promote academic excellence in advancing legal education and research.

Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University has signed an MoU with CORE to launch certificate, diploma, and degree courses in Renewable Energy and Cleantech Technologies, with 12 specialised programmes to roll out by May.

Mussoorie International School partnered with Wycombe Abbey, the U.K., to offer its students exposure through exchange programmes, joint sports and cultural events, seminars and workshops and joint research and innovation projects.

ESCP Business School is partnering with institutions such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Lucknow, IIM Udaipur, MDI Gurgaon, and SPJIMR for exchange and dual degree programmes and to foster cross-disciplinary innovation. 

IISc Bangalore has signed an MoU with Infibeam Avenues to research and develop advanced real-time deepfake detection systems to combat AI-generated deception.

NSDC and the Association of Indian Universities have partnered for academic credential verification and to integrate skill-based courses into higher education across India.

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, signed an MoU with Volvo Group India to foster collaboration between academia and the automotive industry.

Hyderabad Institute of Technology and Management (HITAM) signed MoUs with multiple universities including Milwaukee School of Engineering, University of Alabama in Huntsville, and George Mason University, the U.S., to launch the International 3+1+1 Integrated Twinning Programme. 

Get Set Learn and Harvard Business Publishing Education have partnered to offer courses and simulations through a hybrid learning model that blends online content with real-time facilitator support. 

Kanpur Institute of Technology signed an MoU wit i-merit to implement the latter’s Nova courses as part of the i-merit Accelerate and Elevate programmes. 

Magic Bus India Foundation and Shell India have partnered for the Skill4Future initiative, a two-month programme to equip youth with industry-relevant competencies.

Prayoga Institute of Education Research and Merck, collaborated to bring the former’s initiative, Kriya, to 45 government schools across 35 districts in Karnataka and offer better access to an experiential learning in Science.

LEO1 has partnered with Jyothy Institute of Commerce and Management, Bengaluru, to introduce its Fee Reimbursement Card to incentivise students and parents for timely and advance fee payments while streamlining the institution’s financial processes. 

IITT irupati and Esri India signed an MoU to establish a Centre  of Competence (CoC) to drive geospatial education, research, and industry applications. The centre, which was inaugurated by  Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Secretarty, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, will provide students, researchers, and startups access to advanced GIS tools, training modules, and real-world applications.
