Shimla Rani was apprehended by the Khui Khera Police with 7,000 illicit drug pills
FAZILKA: In a Significant Operation in Azamwala village of Fazilka, law enforcement authorities have taken decisive action against a family involved in drug smuggling, leading to the confiscation of illegal assets acquired through drug-related activities. The operation was carried out under the leadership of DSP Atul Soni on Tuesday.
The Initial arrest that triggered this investigation involved Shimla Rani, a resident of Azamwala, who was apprehended by the Khui Khera police with 7,000 illicit drug pills. Following a brief period of incarceration, she was released on bail. Subsequent police inquiries unveiled a disturbing pattern, her entire family was allegedly implicated in drug trafficking, with substantial assets amassed through the sale of narcotics. A detailed record of these assets was meticulously compiled by the authorities.
The House, situated along the canal and reportedly linked to the female drug trafficker, was seized under the direction of SHO Ramesh from the Khui Khera police station. Valued at Rs 16.5 lakh, this property represents just a fraction of the ill-gotten wealth. Additionally, the police have impounded a tractor valued at Rs 8.5 lakh, two shops worth Rs 4 lakh, a motorcycle valued at Rs 1 lakh 80,000, and other miscellaneous items connected to the suspect.
To inform the public of this action, the police have prominently displayed a notice outside the confiscated house, signaling the intent to curb illegal drug activities and dismantle any associated assets. This operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement in tackling drug-related crimes and their determination to hold those involved accountable for their actions.
