The University of Sheffield, the U.K., invites applications for its M.Sc. Health Economics and Decision Modelling course starting in September. International Postgraduate Taught Merit Scholarships are available.

The University of Sheffield, the U.K., is offering the Computer Science Excellence Scholarship 2025.

Eligibility: A level grades of A*A*A (or above), or equivalent, including an A* in Maths; make the university first choice in the UCAS application process for 2025 entry; apply to study a full-time UG programme in the Department of Computer Science; be classed as an overseas fee student for tuition fee purposes; take all prerequisite subjects for their selected degree.

The University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, the U.K., is offering 850 International Masters scholarships for M.Sc. programme in Strathclyde Business School (SBS) beginning in September.

Eligibility: Candidates must be self-funded and hold an offer of a place for an M.Sc. programme in SBS and be classed as International for fee purposes. Online and blended learning programmes are not eligible.

GUVI concluded Project GENIE (GenAI for Indian Education), in partnership with Freshworks as part of its AI-4-Schools Initiative. Over 1,300 teachers were equipped with future-ready AI skills.

ITM Institute of Health Sciences has launched a Master of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology (M.Sc. MLT) programme to equip students with the skills necessary for leadership roles in healthcare, medical research, and laboratory management.

The inaugural cohort from University of Wollongong (UOW) India completed a five-day immersive programme at its Dubai campus. Students engaged with industry leaders including sustainability experts from Deloitte, AI and Web3 specialists, and FinTech pioneers.

Turnitin has introduced Turnitin Clarity, which will be available as a paid extension to Turnitin Feedback Studio. It includes a composition space for students to draft their writing assignments with transparency and receive AI-generated feedback. TeamLease Edtech released a study showing that female enrollments across all universities had increased by 26% in 2024 compared to 2023, reflecting a positive shift towards gender inclusivity in education. It also revealed how, in 2024, there was a surge in female student enrollments in degree programmes.

PhysicsWallah launched Project Bharat to offer content in five new local languages – Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, and English – with AI Integration. It is also integrating AI-powered tools such as Prep Meter to enhance student success. Pegasus, a JEE and NEET programme, offers curriculum with Olympiad preparation and intensive practice.

A.M. Jain College hosted Shield Her Future: Avalukaga Anbudan, an awareness programme on cervical cancer vaccination. A panel discussion led by Dr. Sreedhar Mayavan along with Dr. Kirthi and Dr. Indhra Nedumaran was held.

Akshay Chaturvedi, Founder and CEO of Leverage Edu, and Mayank Kumar, Co-founder and MD of upGrad, were selected as International Fellows at St. George’s House, Windsor Castle. The International Fellowship, an initiative curated under the patronage of the Duke of Edinburgh, serves as a forum for global leaders to engage in discussions on the future of education, innovation, and talent mobility.

The DST-Technology Enabling Centre (TEC) at Medicaps University hosted an Agriculture Cluster Meet to foster collaboration between academia and the agriculture industry. Government officials, farmers, representatives from the agriculture industry, and academic professionals participated.

eVidyaloka organised its annual National Student Innovation Challenge, a national-level competition empowering students in classes 6 to 8 to develop and implement solutions that drive change in their communities. Over 500 students participated.

Vijaybhoomi University hosted Kanyathon 2025, an annual charity run dedicated to empowering underprivileged girls in India. Over 3,500 people including students from various institutions participated.

RR Kabel concluded the third edition of its Kabel Star Scholarship Programme. Over 1,000 students across India were awarded ₹10,000 each to support their higher secondary education.

The Canadian International School Bangalore hosted Multicultural Day. Over 450 people participated.

K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management hosted the CEO Conclave 2025 on the theme Meeting Deadlines Without Missing Life. Speakers included Sanjay Guha, Founder and CEO, Acquist; Krishan Mishra, CEO, FPSB India; Ashok Kumar Gautam, MD and CEO, IIBX, and Rajan Venkatesh, CEO and MD, Laxmi Organic Industries Limited. The institute’s Department of Mass Communication, Somaiya School of Humanities and Social Sciences, in collaboration with The Press Club of India and Foreign Correspondents Club of South Asia, organised Media Manthan 2025, an International Conference and Conclave to discuss the connection between media, democracy and the public sphere.

IIT Roorkee hosted COMET’25 on the theme Think Beyond, Lead Beyond. It included workshops, competitions, and speaker sessions. The institute’s Department of Applied Mathematics and Scientific Computing, Saharanpur campus, in collaboration with Liverpool Hope University, the U.K., hosted the 13th International Conference on Soft Computing for Problem Solving, which saw around 170 research presentations. The institute’s Department of Paper Technology, in collaboration with the Bureau of Indian Standards, hosted a workshop on Recent Developments and Innovations in the Paper Industry. The Centre for Space Science and Technology at the institute hosted two international conferences: Space for Sustainability: Science, Technology, Education, and Policy (S²-STEP2025) and the Sixth Indian Planetary Science Conference.

Smiling Tree partnered with Gargi College, University of Delhi, for an International Conference on Green Economy and Vertical Cities. Experts, academicians, policymakers, and environmentalists discussed solutions for sustainable urban development.

Researchers from MIT World Peace University, Pune, have developed a modular Internet of Things-enabled tablet and capsule dispenser, to help individuals with complex dosing schedules by ensuring that medicine is dispensed with precision on a timely basis.

The Department of Medical Laboratory Technology at the School of Allied Health Sciences, Noida International University, conducted a three-day workshop on Polymerase Chain Reaction and Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology. Over 60 students participated.

The Department of Geography, School of Earth Sciences, Central University of Tamil Nadu, in association with the Indian Geographical Society (IGS), Chennai, hosted a one-day national conference, GeoVista 2025 on Geographical Visualisation: Trends and Applications. Around 120 researchers registered and 43 papers were presented.

ARCH College of Design and Business partnered with RAJEEVIKA to enhance the marketing of handmade products by women across Rajasthan. Students will work directly with women artisans, bringing ideas for storytelling and branding across self-care, fashion, home décor, bags, and soft toys.

Global College of Pharmaceutical Technology hosted a conference discussing global health challenges along with a multidisciplinary workshop on Real-Time PCR. Over 1,200 students and researchers participated.

Ad filmmaker Prahlad Kakar, has joined AAFT as Industry Advisor to the School of Advertising, PR and Events.

ESET, in partnership with Ashoka University, has launched the 2025 ESET Women in Cybersecurity Scholarship in India to support students enrolled in Computer Science programme at Ashoka University.

Hindustan International School hosted the finale of its Kids MBA programme, which provided a platform for 13 student teams from the school’s Guindy, Padur, and Karapakkam campuses to present their innovative business ideas to a panel of industry leaders. Over 250 students participated.

International Women’s Day celebrations

Noida International University conducted an event on women’s safety with guests being Suniti, IPS, DGP-Women and Security; Rachna Srivastava, Vice President, Supreme Court Bar Association; and Major General Vikram Dogra.

Alliance University hosted an Accelerate Action event and also honoured 22 women from various fields with the Mahila Spandana Awards 2025.

vivo India launched Project vivo KanyaGyaan, an initiative to empower Indian women in STEM. It offers scholarship, mentorship, skill development, and industry exposure to young women from underserved communities.

Awards and honours

Ganesha Udupa, Dean of Emerging Energy Technologies and Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, was conferred the Brahma Teja Award for his contributions to the Chandrayaan-3 mission and his research in aerospace engineering.

KPIT Technologies announced the winners of KPIT Sparkle, its innovation competition for undergraduate engineering students. Team RYM Genergy from GD Goenka University, Gurugram, won the Gold Award for its Project Ultron, an advanced energy storage solution.

Chandigarh University, with its 49-student contingent, was declared the Overall Champion at the 38th Inter University National Youth Festival-2024-25. The won first place in competitions such as cartooning, western vocal solo, literary and other events.

MDI Gurgaon came first in the Finclusion Challenge 202 conducted by Muthoot Finance. IIM Lucknow was first runner-up, followed by BITS Pilani Goa.

Tata Steel concluded the 10th edition of its annual innovation challenge Mind Over Matter, which challenges engineering students to address real-life problems related to steel-making and new materials. Namita Dubey from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad campus was the winner, whileRavu Ravi Teja and Kurapati Harshavardhan from IIT (BHU) Varanasiwere declared first and second runners-up respectively.

SP Jain School of Global Management was ranked #23 globally in the QS International Trade Rankings 2025 and 16 in West Asia and Africa, in the QS Global MBA Rankings 2025.

MoUs and partnerships

Manipal Institute of Technology has signed an MoU with the University of Surrey, the U.K., to offer Dual Degree and Integrated Master’s programmes. The emphasis is on specialised programmes in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, and Electronic Engineering.

Tara Prakashana has signed a MoU with Manipal Academy of Higher Education to foster an exchange of academic and cultural knowledge through critical research, publication, and the preservation of rare manuscripts.

IIIT Bangalore has signed an MoU with Nokia to strengthen industry-academia relations, enhance experiential learning, and equip students with industry-relevant skills in emerging technologies.

Medicaps University has signed an MoU with Shefali Business Solutions to equip students with expertise in Tally Software.

IIT Kanpur signed an MoU with the Office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, to establish a Census Data Research Workstation at its Computer Center.

Mussoorie International School has partnered with Wycombe Abbey, the U.K., to provide global exposure by facilitating student exchange programmes, international sports and cultural events, joint research and innovation projects, and seminars and workshops by industry experts.

Indian School of Hospitality (ISH) has partnered with GeSS Education to introduce an international career pathway for aspiring chefs and hospitality professionals in India. The partnership will enable ISH’s Intensive Certificate in Culinary Arts (ICAP India) and Intensive Certificate in Bakery and Pastry Arts (ICAP India) students to gain globally-recognised Australian vocational qualifications. The first batch of students under this programme will commence training this June, followed by another batch in November 2026 at the ISH campus, Gurugram. Shoolini University, and Royal Holloway, University of London have signed an MoA to launch a 1+1 Dual Master’s Degree Programme for 2025/26. It will provide PG students with interdisciplinary learning opportunities in Biotechnology/Biosciences and Psychology.

Nemetschek Group India has signed an MoU with Anna University, Chennai, to establish an AEC Centre of Excellence to enhance industry readiness for Engineering and Architecture students.

Keystone Global Education has signed an MoU with several universities to expand its course offerings. One is with the ISM University, Germany, for exclusive rights in Gujarat for four PG programmes. The next was with PSB Academy, Singapore, for diploma programmes. The last is for the One Year Design Diploma programme of Explorra Designversity.

i-merit has signed an MoU with SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Delhi-NCR, to introduce a series of skill development programmes designed to enhance students’ employability. It will range from short-term courses of 120 hours to comprehensive programmes spanning 12 to 25 weeks.

UPES has partnered with EY India to introduce MBA in Strategic Financial Management, where 50% of the curriculum will be designed and delivered by a Big 4 firm. Students from UPES School of Business will receive over 600 hours of direct training from EY India. Additionally, a group of six-10 high-performing students will have the opportunity to secure paid internships.

Amrita University has signed an MoU with the Indian Navy to drive research, innovation, and technological development in the defence sector. It will also facilitate specialised MTech and PhD programmes for naval personnel, fostering advanced research and skill development. Additionally, the university will work towards establishing technology incubation centres and innovation hubs.
