Hackathon

KRUU, in association with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, has launched the KRUU GRASP 2026, a national AI hackathon.

Lecture on Education

Azim Premji University is hosting a public lecture on “Education in an Age of Polarisation: A Perspective on Cultivating Values, Resilience and Belonging in Childhood and Youth” by Arniika Kuusisto, Professor of Early Childhood Education at the University of Helsinki. NIIT University invites applications for its B.Tech. programmes in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science; Cyber Security, Robotics and Automation; Biotechnology; Computer Science and Engineering; Electronics and Communication Engineering; BBA programmes AI and Business Analytics, and Dual Degree Integrated MBA.

Eligibility: Pass in Class 12 board exam. Those with valid JEE Main 2026 score need not take the NIIT University Aptitude Test.

The University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, the U.K., invites applications for its new interdisciplinary M.Sc. in Economics, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence course beginning this September.

The University of Birmingham (UoB), the U.K., has launched its Future Skills Scholarship for students who are domiciled in India and have received an unconditional offer for a full-time PG programme (M.Sc. Business Analytics; Marketing; Data Science; Advanced Engineering Management; Molecular Biotechnology; Master’s in Public Health; M.A. International Relations, and LLM programmes (except LLM Energy and Environmental Law – Distance Learning) in September 2026.

SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) Deemed-to-be University has opened registrations for admissions to its UG programmes across it various campuses. Students looking for admission to Commerce, Management, Economics, Humanities, and International Studies programmes will have to take NMIMS Programme Aptitude Test (NPAT). Engineering, Technology Management, and Pharmacy programmes are offered through the NMIMS Common Entrance Test (NCET). Law aspirants can seek admission through the NMIMS Law Aptitude Test (NLAT). Design education is offered through the NMIMS Design Aptitude Test (NDAT). Students inclined towards Maths, Analytics, and Data-driven careers have to take the NMIMS Mathematical Sciences Test (MST). Events

The Mathematics Department of Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College, Chennai, organised interclass competitions on Live Mathematical Models and an inter-school Math Olympiad competition. Participants showcased live models that demonstrated mathematical concepts and their real-life applications.

BML Munjal University (BMU) hosted the second BML Munjal Memorial Lecture delivered by well-known author Amitav Ghosh, who spoke about for rethinking resilience amid the planetary crisis.

IIM Kashipur hosted Avinya, its annual conclave organised by Navaashay, its Design and Innovation Centre. The theme was From Idea to Impact: Designing, Building, and Scaling Sustainable Products in the Age of Artificial Intelligence. Speakers included Prof. Saptarshi Kolay from IIT Roorkee, Utsab Chakraborty from VISA; Parth Sangnani from Microsoft; and Anshuman Mansingh from Google. The institute also conducted five batches of Management Development Programmes for 232 PM SHRI school principals from Uttarakhand.

Findoc launched a financial literacy initiative across Punjab colleges to educate students on personal finance, investing, and capital markets. Sessions have been held at University Business School, Lovely Professional University, and Punjab College of Technical Education.

Mohan Babu University hosted an international research conclave on the theme AI-Driven Sustainable Technologies for Energy, Health and Society, organised with IEEE and the Institution’s Innovation Council. It provided UG, PG, and Ph.D. scholars a platform to present research and explore funding, collaborations, and industry partnerships.

Noida International Institute of Medical Sciences, a constituent institution of Noida International University (NIU), organised a White Coat Ceremony for its MBBS Batch 2025. Speakers highlighted the importance of ethical medical practice, lifelong learning, empathy, and the responsible use of technology in healthcare.

Prof. Sumit Tripathi from Goa Institute of Management, Roma Trigunait from Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, and Dinesh Chandra Pandey from Graphic Era Deemed-to-be University havedeveloped an AI-based forecasting framework to boost retail profitability and cut carbon emissions. The findings were published in Springer Nature’s journal Circular Economy and Sustainability.

A six-month LEAD Group study found that AI-enabled learning systems can boost student learning up to four times when integrated into regular classroom instruction and practice routines. It examined outcomes across two cohorts: 3,511 students who studied using AI-enabled learning systems and 6,215 students who didn’t.

The IC3 Institute’s Annual Student Quest Report 2025, based on responses from students in the graduating classes of 2026 and 2027, shows that high-school students are reshaping academic and career choices and also highlights a gap in current guidance systems and the need for tech-aware, timely, student-centric counselling.

BITS Design School has integrated the Practice School Programme into its undergraduate curriculum, providing students with industry-mentored, credit-bearing, live project experience. This involves eight-weeks Practice School: one engagement at the end of the second year, followed by a 22-week Practice School in the final year.

Laul Global has launched Florida Coastal University, a fully online, digital-first university in Florida, the U.S., offering students UG, graduate, and doctoral programmes in Business, Computer Science, and Education.

Prof. Ajay Dashora and research scholar Anushka Vashistha from IIT Guwahati and Afroz Ahmad Shah (Universiti of Brunei Darussalam) have developed a predictive framework to identify potential glacial lake formation sites in the Eastern Himalayas. The findings were published in Nature’s Scientific Reports journal.

Researchers from Nagaland University, led by Gyati Yam, discovered Hoya nagaensis, a new plant species in Nagaland’s high-altitude forests, and documented its traits and ecology. The findings were published in Kew Bulletin.

Noida International University’s School of Business Management hosted the AI–Business Fusion: Leveraging Artificial Intelligence for Multidisciplinary Innovation and Sustainability. Speakers included Prof. Prem Kumar Rajagopal (Malaysia University of Science and Technology); Prof. Dr. M.K. Dutta (Amity University); Vivek Ranjan Rai (ACP, Cyber Crime Cell); and Lata Gautam (Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India), among others.

Boeing Sukanya STEM labs were inaugurated across government schools in Odisha’s Sambalpur, Rairakhol, and Kuchinda districts by Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Education Minister. The are expected to benefit more than 3,000 students annually.

Target Learning Ventures conducted workshops for school principals and teachers in Nashik on online tools in teaching, learning, and assessment, and curriculum development. It also conducted a webinar on How to Choose the Right School for Your Child by Hema Bhadawkar, Associate Professor at K.J. Somaiya School of Education, Somaiya Vidyavihar University.

NIMS University’s School of Business, Department of Mass Communication, and Rajasthan Police, organised a seminar on Sashakt Beti – Samriddha Bharat (Empowered Daughter – Prosperous India). The chief guest was Sunita Meena, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rajasthan Police).

The Legal Aid Clinic of ITM University, Raipur, held a NALSA-sponsored (National Legal Services Authority) workshop on drug awareness and health guidance to educate students on the harmful effects of substance abuse. A short film on the ill-effects of drug abuse was screened, and the Law students presented a street play on drug awareness.

SOIL Institute of Management has appointed Jagannath Mohanty as Deputy Director of the PGDM Programme. Before this, he served as Associate Professor at IMT Nagpur, and earlier as Associate Professor at King Saud University, Riyadh.

Kotak Education Foundation hosted Manthan 2026, its annual education showcase, on the theme Reimagining Education for the Next Billion. Actor Swaroop Sampat and journalist Faye D’Souza were the chief guests. A coffee-table book Beacons of Change: Journeys of Hope, Learning, and Impact, was also released.

SGT University hosted its 12th convocation for graduating students in the presence of Prof. Sat Prakash Bansal, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Himachal Pradesh; Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, Director, IIM- Calcutta; Prof. Unnat P. Simplilearn partnered with Lovely Professional University to offer a Professional Certificate in AI and Machine Learning for B.Tech CSE (AI/ML) students, to enhance industry skills, employability, and innovation.

Students of Gopi Birla Memorial School hosted an Environmental Protection Awareness Drive the challenges of air, water, and noise pollution, and gave practical solutions for saving natural resources.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), KLH University Aziz Nagar Campus, Hyderabad, hosted a five-day Skill Development Workshop on AI-Driven Models for Autonomous Navigation Systems and a national symposium titled Edutainment-2026, which featured 30 technical and fun-based stalls designed and presented by students, with support from sponsors Being Zero, Cognalis, Robosevak, and Hillsafe. The institute’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering organised a five-day Staff Development programme on Modern Programming on Emerging Technologies.

Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi), in collaboration with the Indian affiliate of Marvell Technology, launched Networks for AI/ML Systems, an advanced academic-industry course to educate students on these realities as they appear in production AI infrastructure. Nearly 45 students from B.Tech., M.Tech. and Ph.D. programmes participated.

Awards

Team Camber Racing from SRM Institute of Science and Technology took the first place across Endurance, Skidpad, Autocross, Acceleration, Engineering Design, Fuel Economy, and Sustainability Best Practices categories and also received the Best Driver Award at Formula Bharat 2026.

Galgotias University was ranked in the 601–800 band globally in Business, Economics, and Computer Science, and in the 801–1000 band in Life Sciences in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026 by Subject.

Maker Bhavan Foundation announced the winners of its Vishwakarma Awards. The first prize winners were: Team Vayu-Setu (Harsh Tejwani and Mohammed Ujjainwala) from Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Technology (VESIT) in the Smart Mobility category; Team Adaptive Modular Arms (Aarav Gupta, Palash Pangavhane, and Jaideep Lokhande) from IIT-Bombay in the Intelligent Machines category; Team Sarathi (Bolisetty Subbarayudu, Chiguru Varun, Gollapally Shivaraj, and Shaik Taufeeq)from the C.R. Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science, in the HealTech category. 

Saket Ganatra and Rohan Pinara, Saint Paul’s School, were the winners of the Young Innovators’ Expo 2026 organised by Marwadi University and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. 

Team Drushti from CMR College of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad, won first prize in InnoVent 2026, the engineering innovation hackathon organised by Tata Technologies and supported by Amazon Web Services.

Collaborations

Delhi Technological University and the Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers’ Association signed an MoU to strengthen industry-academia collaboration in the electrical and electronics sector.

PE Analytics partnered with University of Cambridge’s Department of Land Economy to launch an educational programme, focusing on research and AI-driven predictive models in real estate.

The Government of Telangana’s Aikam signed an MoU with Pearson as its first partner to advance AI skilling, assessment, and credentialing through the upcoming Global AI Academy.

ICONA partnered with UPES to establish an ICONA Centre of Excellence in Future Mobility to strengthen education, research, and innovation in future mobility. UPES will also host a Centre of Automotive Design Excellence along with ICONA.

NSE Academy Limited partnered with CFA Institute to offer globally recognised certification and professional programmes in investment, financial markets, data science, and ESG to equip students with practical, industry-aligned skills.

IIT Mandi signed an MoU with JK DELOPT to collaborate on research, innovation, and indigenous technology development through a long-term industry-academia partnership.
