Samsung Solve for Tomorrow
Samsung has launched the fourth edition of its Solve for Tomorrow initiative, a nationwide contest for students to create innovative solutions to address some of society’s most pressing challenges by leveraging technology. Students in the 14-22 age group can submit their solutions across four themes: AI for a Safer, Smarter, and Inclusive Bharat; Future of Health, Hygiene, and Well-being in India; Social change through Sports and Tech for Education and Better Futures; and Environmental Sustainability via Technology. The University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, the U.K., has launched a new M.Sc. Secondary Education programme, designed to prepare aspiring secondary school teachers looking to teach Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Computing Science. Graduates of the programme will be eligible to apply for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and register with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS).
Eligibility: Degree awarded by a recognised higher education institution in the U.K. or equivalent from an international institution that includes minimum 80 credits in the relevant subject. Applicants must demonstrate a strong and appropriate knowledge of the discipline.

K.J. Somaiya School and College of Nursing hosted the Innovation Contest on April 21, 2025, in collaboration with the Trained Nurses Association of India-Mumbai City. The theme was Innovations in Health: Need of an Era and the contest showcased pioneering healthcare solutions developed by students across Maharashtra. Over 40 projects were submitted from nursing institutions across the state and winners were selected under three categories: B.Sc. Nursing, Professional Nursing, and General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM). The top 10 projects were selected for further development and support under the Research Innovation Incubation Design Labs (RIIDL) at Somaiya Vidyavihar University.
Woxsen University hosted the Design Vanguard 2025 on the theme Tomorrow by Design: Nurturing Future Creators, which saw participation from students, industry leaders, and design enthusiasts. The event featured student projects from various design disciplines, including wearable innovation, immersive realities, sustainable environments, future mobility, and gamified learning. These projects were displayed across five curated themes. The guests at the event were Shayak Sen, Head of Design, Myntra; P. The Department of Community Medicine at NIIMS Medical College and Hospital organised an awareness programme under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan initiative. Over 300 students pledged to stay Nasha Mukt and to help individuals battling substance abuse. Students held a walkathon across the campus.

Coursera has launched the India Edition of the Micro Credentials Impact Report 2025. Key insights are: one in three Indian students have earned a micro-credential; the likelihood of enrolling in a degree programme jumps to 91% when micro-credentials are offered and rises further when micro-credentials are credit-bearing or teach GenAI skills and 86% believe earning a micro-credential will help them succeed on the job.
Collaborations
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has signed an MoU with Rashtriya Raksha University, Gandhinagar, to co-develop educational content, joint certifications and workshops in areas like Forensic Accounting, Cybersecurity, Systems Audit, Blockchain, Big Data and Robotic Process Automation (RPA). ICAI has also renewed its MoU with the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) to develop a robust national ecosystem for forensic investigation and financial crime detection.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has signed an MoU with Quantum AI Global to collaborate on research and development in Quantum Technologies and Artificial Intelligence. The agreement outlines joint efforts in several frontier areas including quantum communication, quantum internet, quantum simulations, quantum memory, and quantum-safe computing. The partnership is expected to support advanced research initiatives and contribute to the development of next-generation computing technologies.

Sakina Bharmal, who teaches Global Perspectives at the Cambridge IGCSE and AS Level has been declared the regional winner of the 2025 Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Awards in South Asia. This award is given by the International Education group at Cambridge University Press & Assessment.
Team Rasna Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi, was the winner of NEWME Campus Challenge, a fashion-tech hackathon conducted by NEWME.
