CA Final exam 

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will now hold the CA Final exam thrice a year (in January, May and September) just like the Intermediate and Foundation course exams to provide students more opportunities to qualify. The Post Qualification Course in Information Systems Audit will also be held thrice a year – February, June and October.

PM-Vidyalaxmi Scheme

Bank of Baroda has launched the Pradhan Mantri Vidyalaxmi (PM-Vidyalaxmi) Scheme to provide financial support to meritorious students who have got admission in the nation’s top 860 identified Quality Higher Educational Institutions. Loan amounts up to ₹750,000 will be provided a 75% credit guarantee by the Government of India. Partial/full interest subvention to students from low-income families. Scholarship

The University of Leeds, the U.K., is offering the International Masters Regional Scholarships. 

Eligibility: Indian nationals who are self- or partially funded and classified as an international fee-paying student and hold a conditional or unconditional offer for a 2025 Master’s degree.

The University of Sheffield, the U.K., will offer five International Baccalaureate Undergraduate Merit Scholarships in 2025.

Eligibility: Studying for or currently holding the IB Diploma with an offer for a full-time or part-time UG or foundation degree commencing this September. Students must be self-funded and eligible to pay the overseas tuition fee.

Events

British Council, in partnership with Microsoft India, hosted the English Skills for Youth programme to empower youngsters in the 18-25 age group by enhancing their English language and communication skills for employability. Also, in partnership with HSBC, BC has launched a Climate Skills: Seeds for Transition India cross-partner facilitator training in which  over 55 educators from The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), HSNC University, and the University of Mumbai participated.

Target Learning Ventures, in partnership with INSEED NGO, organised a career counselling programme for class 9 and 10 students from the economically weaker section of Matrubhoomi High School. The session was led by Sachin Kodolikar, Executive Director of Target Learning Ventures.

IIM Mumbai achieved 100% placements for the batch of 2025. Recruiters included Alvarez and Marsal, OfBusiness, Praxis Global Alliance, Vodafone Idea, Workday, and ZS, among others.

XLRI concluded its final placements for 591 students of its PGDM (BM) and PGDM (HRM) from both the Jamshedpur and Delhi-NCR campuses. Recruiters included Amazon, Asian Paints, Bajaj Auto, NoBroker, Meesho, Ola, Zomato, Vivo, Godrej, HUL, ITC, Nestle, among others.

Sri Chaitanya Academy launched ATREYA, a NEET programme with a hybrid learning model, live sessions, and emphasis on Physics. Stress-relief workshops and counselling sessions are also incorporated.

GD Goenka University’s School of Management organised the seventh International Conference on Recent Advances in Technology, Innovation and Sustainability. Prof. (Dr.) Satyabhusan Dash, Professor of Marketing and Chairperson of The Centre for Marketing in Emerging Economies (CMEE), IIM-Lucknow; Ankur Verma, Associate Director at PwC; and Rohit Dubey, Vice President, Corporate Communications and Advocacy, Jio, spoke. 

IMS Noida held a three-day international conference where 128 research papers were presented. The event also featured a Business Plan Competition, a Poster Presentation Contest, and a Book Swap initiative. Speakers from India, Singapore, Mexico City, Tunisia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, South Africa, and Indonesia participated.

MAAC hosted a campus recruitment drive for over 110 students. Participating companies included NewGen Gaming, Proffus, Magnetic Grafx, and PhysicsWallah.

IIAD hosted its inaugural Entrepreneur Summit 2025 on the theme Entrepreneurial Mindset: Skills, Strategies and Survival to facilitate discourse between Fashion Business Management students and industry leaders. Participants includedAshish Dev Kapur, Founder, Whisky Samba, The Wine Company and Antares; Kunaal Kumar, MD, Modern Bazaar; Shivam Sahi, Co-Founder and COO, Blue Tokai; Vandy Mehra, Director, Study By Janak, and Mohit Jain, Founder and CEO of Miraggio.

Alliance University concluded its inter-university Techno-Cultural and Sports Fest, Alliance ONE 3.0. Over 2,700 students from 140 institutions across India participated.

AIC Mahindra, Mahindra University, in collaboration with AICTE, and the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, conducted a Faculty Development Programme on Entrepreneurship and Innovation for 50 educators and incubation professionals from various higher education institutions.

IIIT Delhi, in collaboration with the AICTE Training and Learning Academy, hosted a Faculty Development Programme on Emerging Technologies to equip faculty members with practical tools, methodologies, and insights to integrate innovation and entrepreneurship into academic ecosystems.

K.J. Somaiya College of Physiotherapy, Somaiya Vidyavihar University, hosted the second International Physiotherapy Conference 2025. Shiva Subramaniam, co-founder of Biomimicry Compass, delivered the keynote address. A Gait and Motion Analysis Lab was also inaugurated at the institute. A collaboration between K.J. Somaiya College of Physiotherapy and the K.J. Somaiya School of Engineering, it aims to track, analyse, and assess movement patterns of individuals to offer more accurate diagnoses and treatment plans for patients with gait abnormalities. 

The AI Research Centre of Woxsen University has developed an AI-driven Neuro-Adaptive Interface that tracks real-time cognitive and behavioural outcomes to enhance the digital landscape for users. It is designed for seamless application across industries such as gaming, AI-driven education, cognitive therapy, financial trading, and more.

AAFT hosted TEDxAAFT. Speakers included artist and content creator Samriddhi Uniyal, fashion influencer Kompal Kapoor, AI consultant Bhushan Garware ,musician Dahekk, author and leadership coach Kena Shree, fitness coach Vegaas Singh, and CEO and founder of Scrapuncle Mukul Chabbra spoke at the event.

Sanskriti University hosted SPARK 2025, its annual cultural fest. Singer Palak Muchal performed at the event.

Plaksha University launched the Binny Bansal Institute for Inventing the Future (IIF), which is Backed by Binny Bansal, Founder Flipkart and xto10x, and focused on developing innovative solutions to tackle global challenges using technologies such as AI, blockchain, and robotics.

Shri Ram College of Commerce hosted the SRCC Business Conclave 2025 with author and motivational speaker Shiv Khera, speaking at the event.

Medicaps University hosted its annual Moonstone 2025 as part of its silver jubilee celebrations. The university’s new logo was unveiled. Pushyamitra Bhargav, Mayor of Indore, was the chief guest.

Convocations

XLRI Jamshedpur held its 69th convocation conferring degrees on 595 students. Sanjiv Puri, Chairman and MD of ITC Ltd., was the chief guest and also received the Sir Jehangir Ghandy Medal for Industrial and Social Peace.

IIM Bangalore hosted its 50th convocation. Degrees were awarded 798 of doctorate and MBA programmes. S. Somanath, Former Chairman, ISRO, was the chief guest.

At IIM Lucknow’s 39th convocation, 811 students received their degrees. Chief Guest Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Founder and Chairperson, Narayana Health, delivered the convocation address

More than 900 students received their degrees at the 23rd convocation of KCG College of Technology. C.V. Deepak, Airport Director, Airports Authority of India, Chennai International Airport, was the chief guest, while Sivarajah Ramanathan, Mission Director, Startup TN, TN Startup and Innovation Mission, was the guest of honour.

Medhavi Skills University, Sikkim, hosted its first convocation for over 100 students across various disciplines. Raju Basnet, Minister for Education, Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Sikkim, was the chief guest.

Awards and rankings

Ten students from Galgotias University’s iOS Development Centre emerged victorious in Apple’s Swift Student Challenge 2025.

Shiv Nadar University-Delhi NCR announced the winners of Photothon, hosted in collaboration with Sony India. Vinayika Baijal won first prize, followed by Siddharth Sahu and Vidhi from Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR.

Indian School of Hospitality hosted Distin-GU-ISH-ED 2025, its culinary competition on the theme Celebrating Excellence Across the Culinary Spectrum. Winners in the students’ category were Gargi Bagde, Ravi Kumar Singh, Sanwar Zara Bahadur, and Swati Singh.

SAI International Residential School (SIRS), hosted SAI Kaleidoscope, which had various activities ranging from design-thinking, performing arts, literary events, and sports. The SIRS Champions Trophy was part of the event.

Quest Global announced the winners of the 13th edition of Ingenium, a problem-solving competition for engineering students. Sri Eshwar College of Engineering from Tamil Nadu was the winner. Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering, Kerala, was the runner-up.

IIM Jammu was awarded the Business Graduates Association (BGA) Accreditation for five years.

Studies and research

Prof. Devendra Verma, Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering, and his team from NIT Rourkela have developed a bioink made from natural materials for 3D bioprinting of bone-like structures. The findings were published in the Journal of Biomaterials Science (https://tinyurl.com/4w9puz97), and Carbohydrate Polymers (https://tinyurl.com/4undmu5y). 

Pranay Punj Pankaj, Associate Professor, Department of Zoology, and research scholar Metevinu Kechu from Nagaland University integrated traditional ecological knowledge from local villagers to study and conserve indigenous fish species in Dikhu River, Nagaland. Their findings were published in the Journal of Threatened Taxa (https://tinyurl.com/m4xnfdrm).

Professor Aloke Kanjilal and research scholar Bisweswar Santra from Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR, unveiled a rare-earth-free composite material with potential applications in solid-state lighting, AI, and environmental remediation.

Research from Newcastle University on the devastating effects of a glacial lake outburst floods revealed that such floods occurred when meltwater, held back by moraine or ice dams, suddenly burst through. The research findings were published in Science. Scientists from the institution, supported by funding from Versus Arthritis, have created an innovative bioprinting method that produces cell-filled gels closely resembling human tissues, which can help the discovery of new drugs for cancer, heart disease, and arthritis..

University Living unveiled its latest report Beyond Beds and Benches: Decoding ANZ’s Education System, which examines the shifting landscape of higher education especially in New Zealand and Australia. Key findings are: Australia and New Zealand have introduced significant visa policy reforms to attract international students; Australia’s extended post-study work rights and New Zealand’s streamlined visa pathways create greater opportunities for students seeking global education; both nations are prioritising industry-aligned education, creating strong career pathways in STEM, healthcare, and business, among others.

MoUs and partnerships

National Skill Development Corporation, IIT Mandi and the NorthCap University, Gurugram, have signed an MoU to launch a B.Tech. ECE in Semiconductor Design and Technology programme.

IIT Roorkee’s Continuing Education Centre signed an MoU with Imarticus Learning to design and deliver programmes from IIT-CEC including Advanced Certificate in Supply Chain and Analytics, Professional Certificate in Product Management, Professional Certificate in Digital Marketing and MarTech, Professional Certificate in Human Resource Management and Analytics, and Advanced Certification Programme in Cyber Security.

The Confederation of Indian Industry signed an MoU with Vedatya Institute, Gurugram, to provide hospitality-focused Vocational Education and Training under VET by EHL at Vedatya.

The University of Southampton-Delhi, partnered with Investec, to establish a recruitment pathway for graduates to establish careers in Banking and Finance. It will include opportunities for collaboration across research and innovation, community engagement and CSR activities, among others.

PhysicsWallah signed an MoU with Government of NCT Delhi to provide free online classes for NEET 2025 and CUET (UG) 2025 aspirants from Delhi government schools. 

India’s Future Investors (IFI) partnered with BSE Institute Limited to empower IFI participants with financial literacy and investment knowledge through free webinars, and certifications.
