Hindu Sabha President Condemns Violence at Places of Worship, Calls for Unity and Peace

The Hindu Sabha has strongly condemned any form of violence at places of worship following incidents at the Hindu Sabha Temple and Malton Gurdwara on November 3rd and 4th. The organization emphasized that no one should feel unsafe in or around their place of worship, calling for respect and safety across all faiths.

In a unified response, both the Hindu Federation, representing Hindu temples, and the Ontario Sikhs and Gurdwara Council (OSGC), representing Sikh Gurdwaras, have condemned the recent violence. The Hindu Sabha praised this collaborative stance, calling it a positive step towards fostering peace within the communities.

The Hindu Sabha reiterated its commitment to promoting peace, happiness, and harmonious relations between the Hindu and Sikh communities. It emphasized that rallies and protests should not be held inside or near places of worship, as these spaces are sacred and should remain focused on spiritual reflection and community support.

Providing a recent example of this unity, the Hindu Sabha organized a life certificate camp at the temple on November 3rd. The event was designed to assist pensioners, many of whom had dedicated years of service to various departments, in obtaining their life certificates—an annual requirement for continued pension eligibility. Approximately 1,000 pensioners attended the event, with around 80% of them being Sikh community members. The atmosphere was marked by joy and camaraderie, as attendees from both communities sat together, shared meals, and celebrated the opportunity to serve one another.

The Hindu Sabha President also clarified that he is the sole spokesperson for the organization, and any statements made by others should be considered personal opinions, not representative of the Hindu Sabha’s views.

In his closing remarks, he invited people to reach out to the attendees of the recent event to hear firsthand accounts of the unity and mutual respect shared between the Sikh and Hindu communities.
