<p>						CHANDIGARH: Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit is set to undertake his fifth visit to the border districts of the state, beginning on October 4. During this three-day visit, he will tour the border villages of Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, and Fazilka, engaging with local panchayats and interacting with residents. Notably, the Governor has chosen not to utilize the Punjab government&#8217;s helicopter for transportation during this visit.</p>
<p>Initially scheduled from September 20 to 22, the visit had to be postponed due to the arrival of Home Minister Amit Shah on September 26 and the Northern Regional Council meeting. The revised itinerary includes interactions in Pathankot and Gurdaspur on the first day, followed by visits to Amritsar and Tarn Taran on the second day, and concluding with engagements in Ferozepur and Fazilka on the third day.</p>
<p>The decision to abstain from using the state government&#8217;s helicopter stems from the ongoing discord between Governor Purohit and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Governor Purohit had previously asked the Chief Minister to account for Rs 50,000 crore, contributing to the strained relations between the two. Chief Minister Mann had criticized the Governor&#8217;s use of the Punjab government&#8217;s helicopter in July, prompting Governor Purohit to announce his decision to refrain from utilizing it in the future.</p>
