<p><b>Vinayaka Mission’s Law School</b> inaugurated its Centre for Maritime Law (CML), followed by a Maritime Law Summit 2025 on the theme Charting the Course for Cargo, Contracts, and Claims. Justice Syam Kumar V.M, High Court of Kerala, delivered the keynote address.</p>
<p><b>The USC Viterbi School of Engineering </b>and the <b>USC School of Advanced Computing </b>launched a Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence (BSAI) programme, which will be available on Common Application. The first cohort will begin at USC’s University Park Campus in Fall 2026.</p>
<p><b>The Department of Mathematics (Shift 1), Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women (Autonomous), Chennai, </b>organised a panel discussion session on <i>Vanishing curiosity: Why are students turning away from Basic Sciences</i>,<i> </i>during the national seminar on Mathematics: The Gateway to the Emerging Trends of Technology. <p><b>The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at KLH Aziz Nagar Campus</b> hosted a national seminar on Recent Advancements in Next-Generation 5G/6G Network Technologies<i>. </i>It was organised by and sponsored by AICTE under the Vibrant Advocacy for Advancement and Networking through Innovation (VAANI) scheme. Professor P. Kishore Kumar from NIT Andhra Pradesh was the chief guest.</p>
<p><b>Pratishtha Singh, along with Soumyadeep Bhaumik, Jagnoor Jagnoor, and Julie Brown from the George Institute for Global Health </b>synthesised evidence from nine countries across different income settings to show speeding was not just about ignoring rules, but also shaped by social pressure, poor road design, and weak enforcement systems. A paper was published in <i>BMJ Injury Prevention.</i></p>
<p><b>ApplyBoard’s</b> Q2 data shows that India remains the U.K.’s largest and most reliable student market. Key findings show that nearly 63,000 main applicant students applied for a U.K. study visa in Q2 2025, a 16% year-over-year increase; over 56,000 visas were issued, a 24% increase from 2024, and the overall refusal rates were at 9%, three times higher than a year ago.</p>
<p><b>ETS </b>has partnered with <b>Credila </b>to launch the TOEFL Super 50 to aid Indian study-abroad students who have taken the Global Scholar Challenge and registered for the TOEFL test by December 15, with the test to be taken by December 31.</p>
<p><b>The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India </b>(ICAI), through its Board of Studies (Academic), organised a Brainstorming Meet for Academic Excellence for industry experts, academicians and professionals to discuss enhancing the quality and relevance of academic initiatives, aligning learning with global benchmarks, and preparing students for emerging areas such as sustainability, fintech, data science, digital learning and industry-linked case studies.</p>
<p><b>Sundararaman Ramamurthy, </b>MD and CEO of BSE Ltd., spoke to students about financial literacy and responsible investing at an interactive session hosted by Marwadi University, Rajkot. </p>
<p><b>Chrysalis </b>has launched Chrysalis AI, a next-generation AI-powered Co-Thinker, which aims to bridge learning gaps, improve academic outcomes, and promote inclusive education.</p>
<p><b>Convocations</b></p>
<p><b>The Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering (MPSTME), SVKM’s NMIMS, Mumbai, </b>hosted a convocation for its students. Andre Eckholt, MD, Hettich Group, was the chief guest.</p>
<p><b>NIT Rourkela</b> held its 23<sup>rd</sup> convocation for 1,948 students. Brijendra Pratap Singh, CMD, National Aluminium Company (NALCO), was the chief guest.</p>
<p><b>FOSTIIMA Business School</b> organised a convocation for the graduating batches of 2023 and 2024 PGDM programme. Deepak Vohra, Former Ambassador of India to Poland, was the chief guest.</p>
<p><b>IIT Roorkee</b> hosted a convocation for 2,614 students. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, delivered the convocation address.</p>
<p><b>Awards</b></p>
<p>ESCP Business School ranked first across the U.K., Germany, Spain, Italy and Poland, third in France, fifth in Europe, and seventh worldwide in the Financial Times annual ranking of the top 100 Master in Management programmes. IIM-Bangalore’s two-year Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) was ranked No 1 in India and #28 worldwide. IMI Delhi was ranked 11 in India and 99 globally.</p>
<p><b>Team HackXBot (Luvkush Sharma, Sahan Veeresh Angadi, Yash Anand, and Ayush Kumar), students from Faculty of Engineering and Technology at JAIN Deemed-to-be University</b>, came first in the Compute3 Winners category at the Aya Hackathon 2025, Bengaluru edition, for their project, <i>Multi-</i>Chain AI-Powered Crypto Manager.</p>
<p><b>St. John’s Public School, Medavakkam</b>, was the overall winner in EXOUSIA 2025, an inter-school management conclave hosted by the Department of Business Administration at Madras Christian College. <b>Bethel Matriculation School</b> was the runner-up.</p>
<p><b>Tunir Sahoo from IIM Kashipur </b>was the National (India) James Dyson Award 2025 winner for his JivaScope, a pocket-sized, AI-powered device that enables anyone to self-screen for heart and lung diseases in minutes.</p>
<p><b>Pranet Khetan, Class 11 student of Shiv Nadar School, Gurugram, </b>received the Fourth Grand Award in the Biomedical Engineering Category at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2025 in Ohio, the U.S., for his Paraspeak, an automatic speech recognition (ASR) system, which records slurred or dysarthric speech of stroke survivors, patients with paralysis, Parkinson’s, cerebral palsy, and other neurological disorders and converts it into clear and intelligible speech. </p>
<p><b>Kruu</b>, a Chennai-based edu-tech company, won The PIEoneer Awards 2025 for Progressive Education Delivery.</p>
<p><b>Aarav Pandya and Het Upadhyay, students of Billabong High International School, Vadodara, </b>secured first place for their project <i>ValetDroid,</i> in the World Robot Olympiad India Nationals 2025, in the Junior Future Innovators category. They will represent India at the WRO International Championship 2025 in Singapore. They also bagged the Gold Award at Maker Fest Vadodara 2025.</p>
<p><b>Shreyansh Kalhansh and Divyani from ISB, Hyderabad,</b> were the winners of Moves 2025, Axis Bank’s campus engagement programme. Amarpreet Singh and Ishita Mutneja from IIT-Kharagpur were the first runners up.</p>
<p><b>MoUs and partnerships</b></p>
<p><b>XLRI </b>has partnered with the <b>University of Paris-1 Pantheon Sorbonne, the University of Bordeaux, the UNESCO Chair at the University of Paris Nanterre, the Danish Consortium for Academic Craftsmanship (DCAC) and the International Institute of Education Consortium of Universities</b> to collaborate on academic programmes, executive education, and research.</p>
<p><b>Ryan Group of Institutions</b> has partnered with <b>Royal Grammar School Guildford</b> to establish their first school in India, RGSG Bengaluru, which will offer British curriculum, encompassing STEM, sports, art, drama, music, and a co-curricular programme.</p>
<p><b>CynLr </b>has partnered with <b>IISc </b>to explore the intersection of neuroscience and robotics in an initiative titled Visual Neuroscience for Cybernetics, which will focus on developing perception-led robotic systems that adapt to the real world with the same flexibility as the human brain.</p>
<p><b>KPMG</b> in India and<b> Imarticus Learning </b>have launched the Global Accounting and Finance Certification Preparation Programme for aspirants pursuing CFA, US CPA, US CMA, ACCA, and FRM certifications. KPMG in India will deliver real-world case studies and expert-led masterclasses and offer internships to the top three performers.</p>
<p><b>PhysicsWallah </b>(PW) signed an MoU with<b> JM Foundation,</b> to provide academic support to students affected by the recent floods in Punjab and provide targeted academic assistance through free school exam prep and competitive exam guidance.</p>
<p><b>Sona Star Innovations</b> signed an MoU with the <b>Karnataka Digital Economy Mission</b> to implement a state-wide skilling programme to prepare 3,000 students for careers in global and digital industries over the next five years.</p>
<p><b>Mahindra University</b> signed an MoU with <b>Japan’s Kagawa University </b>to facilitate student and faculty exchange, joint research, and cross-border learning.</p>
<p><b>Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science</b> (HITS), Chennai, signed an MoU with <b>Google Cloud </b>and <b>CloudReign Technologies</b> to establish Google Cloud Digital Campus (Elite tier) to foster innovation, digital transformation, and next-generation research. Siddharth Dalwadi, Regional Head, Google Cloud, was the chief guest.</p>
<p><b>TagHive Inc. </b>has partnered with<b> Pratham Education Foundation </b>to implement TagHive’s Class Saathi learning and assessment solution in Baghpat and Bulandshahr districts of Uttar Pradesh and collaborate on teacher training programmes.</p>
<p><b>Ambuja Foundation</b>, in collaboration with <b>Yes Foundation,</b> has launched a two-year skilling initiative to train over 1,000 youth across Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and West Bengal in 12 Ambuja Foundation Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Institutes.</p>
<p><b>SoftwareOne </b>has partnered with <b>Sapno ke Pankh, Gurugram, </b>to launch the DigiSaksham initiative to transform access to digital learning for children from underserved communities and establish fully-equipped, tech-enabled learning spaces across the country.</p>
<p><b>Mody University of Science and Technology </b>signed a three-year MoU with<b> Vyomini Social Foundation</b> to create a platform for students to engage in impactful community initiatives such as village development projects, sanitation and hygiene promotion, and more.</p>
<p><b>Monash University, Australia</b>, has launched dual degrees in <b>Information Technology and Computer Science</b> in collaboration with Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies to allow the latter’s students graduate with Bachelor’s degrees from both institutions.</p>
<p><b>The University of Adelaide College</b> will be known as <b>Kaplan International College Adelaide </b>(KIC Adelaide) following Kaplan’s partnership with the newly formed Adelaide University, a Go8 university created from the merger of the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia.</p>
<p><b>NIIT University</b> (NU)<b> </b>has signed and MoU with A<b>ddverb Technologies </b>to build a strong ecosystem of innovation, research, and skill development in emerging technologies, particularly Robotics, Automation, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).</p>
<p><b>The Indian Institute of Creative Technology</b> (IICT) has collaborated with <b>Lakshya Digital </b>to launch a new six-month full-time programme with specialisation in 3D Environment Art for Video Games. The programme will begin on September 29.</p>
