<p><b>BITS Pilani</b> has launched a new Bachelor of Computer Science programme in collaboration with RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia, under the BITS-RMIT Higher Education Academy. The programme will be offered from the 2026 academic intake and delivered through the 2+2 study model that enables students to complete the first two years at BITS Pilani in India followed by two years at RMIT University’s Melbourne campus. Graduates will receive dual qualifications &#8211; a B.E. Computer Science from BITS Pilani and a Bachelor of Computer Science from RMIT University. <p><b>Events</b></p>
<p>Researchers from <b>VIT Bhopal University</b> — faculty member Pushpdant Jain and students Manas Sahu, Megha Gupta, Swastik Kaurav, Praful Baghel, Aditya Vikram Singh, and Bhanav Lenka— have secured a design registration for a smart multi-purpose lamp stand that features an adjustable desk lamp equipped with dedicated storage compartments for stationery, a mobile phone holder, and a multifunctional base incorporating a clock and built-in speaker system. Designed to address the needs of students, professionals, and remote workers, the product combines lighting, organisation, and digital utility within a single compact device.</p>
<p>An open house by <b>World Peace University Goa</b> brought together students, parents, and educators to discuss the future of higher education, where speakers emphasised the need for universities to prepare students for emerging opportunities rather than only existing careers.</p>
<p><b>PSG Health Sciences Institutions</b> inaugurated COAD Club 2026 (Club of Anti-Drug) at the PSG IMSR Auditorium. N. Kannan, Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore City, was the chief guest and G. D. Visnu Raam, Founder, World Safety Signs and Drug Awareness Programme, was the guest of honour. The PSG SHIELD App, which aims to support awareness, reporting, and preventive measures related to drug abuse, was also launched.</p>
<p><b>HCL Foundation</b> and <b>Pearson </b>have established a Discovery Science Center STEM lab in Bengaluru to provide underserved students with hands-on, experiential learning in science and technology through STEM clubs, workshops, and competitions.</p>
<p>Researchers at<b> IIT Kanpur</b> led by Professor Arun K. Shukla have uncovered the molecular basis underlying the atypical signalling behaviour of C5aR2, an immune receptor that has puzzled scientists for years. The research was conducted in collaboration with T<b>he University of Queensland,</b> and the <b>University of Tokyo</b> and <b>Kyoto University</b> in Japan. The study was supported by DBT Wellcome Trust India Alliance, Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Department of Science and Technology (DST), and Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).</p>
<p>Prof. Ranjana Pathania from the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, Ph.D.Scholar Avik Pathak, and postdoctoral fellow Snehlata Saini from <b>IIT Roorkee</b> have uncovered a critical metabolic vulnerability in Acinetobacter baumannii, which is responsible for severe hospital-acquired infections worldwide. The study was published in the peer-reviewed journal <i>mBio</i>. </p>
<p><b>Chitkara University </b>concluded the first edition of the Amplify Leadership Series, a residential faculty development programme on the theme Empowering Educators for a Changing World. Around 300 faculty members, principals, and academic leaders explored structured learning, collaboration, and exchange.</p>
<p><b>Birla Global University</b> has appointed Tanmay Pattanayak as the registrar. He previously served as the Registrar at Jagannath University, Rajasthan.</p>
<p><b>Victoria University Delhi NCR</b> appointed Prof. Karen Dodd as the inaugural Pro Vice-Chancellor of the India campus. She is currently serving as Executive Dean, College of Sport, Health and Engineering, Victoria University Australia.</p>
<p>The European Union has awarded 75 Indian students the two-year <b>Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree scholarships</b> for 2026-2028. The Delegation of the European Union to India hosted a pre-departure ceremony in New Delhi, bringing together selected scholars, EU Member State representatives, alumni, and key education stakeholders.</p>
<p><b>Target Learning Ventures</b> organised two webinars to address concerns faced by parents, educators, and schools during the back-to-school season. The first, <i>Understanding Separation Anxiety in Young Children Starting School</i>, was led by Dr. Divya Wale, Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrician at New Horizons Child Development Centre. <p><b>Anant National University </b>has announced an expanded merit-based scholarship framework, offering up to 100% tuition and hostel fee waivers to students who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance in Class 12 and other national-level competitive examinations.</p>
<p>The <b>University of Wollongong India</b>, has announced merit scholarships for students commencing its Bachelor of Business (Finance and Business Analytics) programme in July.</p>
<p><b>Birla Institute of Management Technology</b> hosted an induction ceremony for the students of its PGDM programmes. Arvind Bhandari, CEO and MD, Goodyear India, was the chief guest and Badari Narayana, Executive Director, Deloitte, India, was the guest of honour.</p>

<p><b>Awards</b></p>
<p><b>Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2027:</b> From Australia, the University of Melbourne, Australia was ranked 22nd globally and Monash University ranked 31. From the U.K., the University of Warwick was placed 68 globally and 10 in the U.K; the University of Sheffield was ranked 82 globally and 14 in the U.K., and the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, was ranked 230. In India, Galgotias University was ranked in the 1201-1400 band globally.</p>
<p>In the <b>Positive Impact Rating (PIR) for Business Schools</b>, IIM-Bangalore scored 9.7 in the 2026 edition and was also designated a Level 5 Pioneering School. K J Somaiya Institute of Management, Mumbai, was recognised as a Level 4 Transforming School.</p>
<p><b>Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham</b> was ranked No. 1 in India and 37 globally for Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure in the Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026.</p>

<p><b>Aakansha Natani, Assistant Professor; Siddhi Wadekar, Ph.D. scholar; and Sujal Deoda,</b> student of B.Tech. <p><b>Team Weak Testcase (Abhishek, B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering and Jatin Aggarwal and Piyush Keshan</b>, B.Tech Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence) from <b>IIIT Delhi</b> have qualified for the finals of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) coding challenge.</p>
<p><b>Teams Airavata, Kryptos, Hacktro Tricks, Outlier Coders, and Nexora</b> were awarded â¹1,00,000 each after emerging as victorious across five challenge tracks at the finale of STATATHON 2025-26, a national innovation challenge organised by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India, and AICTE.</p>
<p><b>Team Agniya</b> from <b>Manipal School of Architecture and Planning</b> won the grand prize at the Solar Decathlon India2025-26 conducted by the Indian Institute for Human Settlements and the Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy. Haji Public School, Breswana was the project partner.</p>
<p><b>Collaborations</b></p>
<p><b>BIT Mesra</b> and<b> IIT Kharagpur </b>have signed an MoU to collaborate on research, faculty and staff development, and joint academic initiatives, including seminars, workshops, and specialised courses.</p>
<p><b>IIT Roorkee</b> has partnered with <b>WRI </b>India to expand its industry and research collaborations on sustainable battery ecosystems and clean energy transition. The institute also signed an MoA with <b>NAMTECH </b>to establish the Research and Experiential Learning Centre on Sustainable Energy and Circularity with support from NTPC.
