<p><b>Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science </b>has opened 2026–2027 admissions. Applications for the HITSEEE 2026 engineering entrance exam are now open to Indian and international students, with a deadline of April 22. <p><b>The University of Chicago’s</b> Physical Sciences Division, invites application to its <b>MS in Applied Data Science </b>programme.</p>

<p><b>The University of Strathclyde, Glasgow,</b> invites applications for its MSc Advanced Biochemistry course starting in September 2026.</p>
<p><b>Eligibility:</b> Minimum second-class Honours degree or international equivalent in a biological or chemical discipline. Minimum score of IELTS 6.0 (with no component below 5.5).</p>

<p><b>Itika Kainthla of Shoolini University, </b>with <b>CNMS Bengaluru</b> developed a method to convert fallen Himalayan pine cones into styrene, a sustainable alternative to coal-based carbon, published in <i>ACS Sustainable Chemistry and Engineering</i>.</p>
<p>Researchers from <b>NIT Rourkela</b>, with collaborators from the <b>University of North Carolina</b> and <b>Central University of South Bihar</b>, identified a natural long-pepper compound effective against colon cancer. The findings were published in <i>BioFactors</i>. Another team developed a <b>Constructed Wetland–Microbial Fuel Cell System, </b>a nature-based wastewater treatment innovation, for eco-friendly wastewater treatment in India’s dhobi ghats.</p>
<p>Over 500 Delhi-NCR students participated in the <b>OpenAI Academy x NxtWave Regional Buildathon</b>, creating and showcasing AI prototypes, with guidance from over 50 NxtWave mentors, as part of the lead-up to the India-AI Impact Summit 2026.</p>
<p><b>IIT Kanpur</b> held its campus placement with 1,627 receiving offers at the end of Day 1. Recruiters included Accenture, BlackRock, HSBC, SAP, Airbus, PwC, Navi, Qualcomm, and more.</p>
<p><b>The Indian School of Business’ 2025-2027 PGP for Young Leaders </b>cohort received over 175 summer internship offers from 38 companies, including PwC, Deloitte USI, Motilal Oswal, Amazon, and Ola.</p>
<p><b>Plaksha University </b>concluded ConfAI 2025, its three-day academic conference on Artificial Intelligence. <p><b>Awards and laurels</b></p>
<p><b>Sahay AI team from Aarupadai Veedu Medical College, Puducherry,</b> won first prize in Silver Spark 2025, the ideathon organised by Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed to be University and hosted by<b></b>Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology, while the first runner-up was <b>team Blink X Innovators from School of Allied Health Sciences, VIMS, Salem. </b></p>
<p><b>Asha Thomas, HoD, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, </b>with co-investigators<b> Sanjeevani Deshkar, HOD, Pharmaceutics, and Vinita Patole,</b> from <b>Dnyaan Prasad Global University School of Pharmacy and Research by Dr. D.Y. Patil Unitech Society, </b>secured an ICMR Intermediate Grant worth over â¹1 crore for developing a collagen–elastin scaffold with chicken-derived skin oil to accelerate healing in chronic diabetic wounds.</p>

<p><b>Six Rhodes Scholars-Elect for India 2026 </b>were selected. <p><b>ESCP Business School</b> ranked four in Financial Times European Business School 2025 ranking, while its MBA programme ranked #10, and EMBA ranked #1 in Europe respectively.</p>
<p><b>Abhishek Dhanda, Prabhkirat Singh, and Rachita Chandok, class 12 students from B. C. M. Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana</b>, were declared one among the four national winners of the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2025. They were recognised for <i>Prithvi Rakshak</i>, their smart, modular vermicomposting system. </p>
<p><b>Rishihood University’s School of Entrepreneurship (SoEN) </b>organised a Health Hackathon on Social Entrepreneurship at its campus. Out of the 10 teams from the university’s Mahesh Navani School of Brain, Body, and Behaviour, School of Design, Rashtram School of Public Leadership, and the SoEN which participated, Team Air Sanjeevani was declared the winner. <p><b>SRM University-AP </b>signed a MoU with <b>Callus Company,</b> to introduce its SPRINT Programme, for SRM-AP students. </p>
<p><b>The University of Glasgow</b> and <b>UPES</b> signed an <b>MoA </b>which allows students to complete the first two years in India and the final two years in the U.K. for their Bachelor’s degree.</p>
<p><b>Shiv Nadar University </b>and<b> Trinity Laban, London,</b> launched Satyam Kalon, an interdisciplinary arts project with India, U.K., and U.S. institutions, featuring seminars, workshops, and events to train scholars for careers in the arts and creative professions.</p>
