<p><b>GATE 2026</b></p>
<p>IIT Guwahati will be the organising institute for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026, which will be held on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. The Engineering Sciences paper will have a new section on Energy Science. The exam will be conducted in English only.</p>
<p><b>Eligibility:</b> Those in the third or higher years of an UG degree programme or have completed a government-approved degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Arts and Humanities. </p>

<p><b>TVS Indus Design Honours</b></p>
<p>The TVS Motor Company has launched the ‘TVS Indus’ Design Honours, a new annual challenge to nurture design talent and redefine the future of mobility by tapping into blend India’s rich design heritage. The 2025 edition is theme-based and draws inspiration from four distinctive regions: Thar, Sahyadri, Kutch, and Mumbai. Participants must propose mobility concepts spanning mono-wheel, two-wheeler, and three-wheeler formats, while incorporating environmental, social, and cultural relevance. Registration is free.

<p><b>Arena Animation</b> launched the World Creative Excellence League (WCEL), a creative competition platform for its students across 12 categories including Comic Design, Motion Graphics, 3D CGI Advertising, and more.</p>
<p><b>IIM Kozhikode’s India-Japan Centre on Climate and Culture</b>, in collaboration with <b>NIT Calicut, IIT Bombay,</b> and <b>Keio University,</b> Japan, hosted a workshop on Disaster Resilience and Climate Adaptation. Dr. Beena Philip, Mayor of Kozhikode, inaugurated the event. </p>
<p><b>Indraprastha College for Women,</b> in collaboration with the <b>Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Smriti Samiti and the All India Society of Education (AISE), </b> organised an inter-college speech competition on the theme Contribution of the youth in the Quit India Movement, 1942. Students from over 17 colleges of the University of Delhi participated.</p>

<p><b>Maya Academy of Advanced Creativity</b> (MAAC) held two sessions featuring Pranay Agarwal, Head of Creative Operations at DNEG India, to offer students insights into the evolution of the VFX industry and the importance of adaptability in creative careers. </p>
<p><b>ApplyBoard </b>has released a report on the evolution of international student demand in the U.K. Key findings show that students from Myanmar, Qatar, and Nepal are more likely to enter computing/IT programmes than the all-market average and that Health and medicine accounted for 11% of all new international entrants in 2023/24, and more. <p><b>The Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC)</b>, in collaboration with <b>VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), </b>rolled out its innovative Eicher Training Van programme across Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology, Kondhwa, MERI College of Engineering and Technology, and ADAMAS University and trained over 300 students in real-world automotive technologies.</p>
<p><b>Alliance University’s Department of Science </b>hosted the International Conference on Smart Materials in Emerging Technologies (ICSMET 2025) in a hybrid format. Prof. Gopal K. Hegde from IISc Bengaluru was the chief guest, and V. Ganesan from Medi-Caps University, Indore, was the guest of honour.</p>
<p><b>Fateh Education</b> has launched the Fateh Student Ambassador (FSA) Programme to create a community of peer mentors and digital storytellers who can represent life as an international student to guide students who aim to study abroad.</p>
<p><b>Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology, Chennai</b>, organised a drug abuse awareness rally. M. Arivazhagan, DSP, Mamallapuram, inaugurated the event, and over 150 students participated.</p>
<p><b>Vivekanand Education Society’s College of Polytechnic</b> (VESP) launched a fully automated recruitment consulting website developed by its second-year Diploma Engineering students Vasa Mahira Jignesh, Thakur Swanandi Arun, Gaikwad Gaurav Santosh, and Thakur Nishit Sanjay. It is designed to streamline the hiring process for fresh graduates and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.</p>
<p><b>Motion Education </b>launched the second edition of Shiksha ka Mahautsav 2025, its digital campaign to empower JEE and NEET aspirants from Classes 11 and 12.</p>
<p><b>Sanskriti University</b> hosted a job fair that saw around 1500 students receive offer letters or be shortlisted for a second round. Recruiters including Yokohama Tyres, Just Dial, Teleperformance, Tech Mahindra, and others.</p>
<p><b>The Telangana State Council of Educational Research and Training</b> (SCERT), in collaboration with <b>Pi Jam Foundation</b>, conducted a two-day capacity-building programme for government school teachers to effectively implement the newly launched Digital Learning Textbooks for classes 1 to 9.</p>
<p><b>Goa Institute of Management</b> commemorated its 32nd Foundation Day. S. George, S.J., Director of XLRI Jamshedpur, was the chief guest.</p>
<p>Students of IIM Bangalore’s PGP Management and PGP in Business Analytics (PGPBA) hosted Venix 2025, a business and entrepreneurship summit. Over 415 students from more than 125 colleges across the country participated.</p>
<p><b>KPIT Technologies</b> launched an Advanced Platform for Embedded eXpertise Lab (KPIT APEX) in collaboration with COEP Technological University to empower students and faculty to work on real-world challenges in embedded systems and hardware-software integration.</p>
<p><b>BITS Law School, Mumbai, </b>announced two awards to mark the 85th birth anniversary of late writer Eunice De Souza: Annual Eunice De Souza Memorial Gold Medal to an outgoing student from English Literature and Annual Eunice De Souza Memorial Award, instituted by the BITSLAW Writing Centre (BWC), to recognise a prominent author.</p>
<p><b>The Institute of Risk Management (IRM)-India Affiliate</b> has collaborated with Mahindra University to establish a Global Centre for ERM and act as a dedicated hub to advance IRM’s globally recognised ERM qualifications.</p>
<p>Researchers from <b>IIT Guwahati and Ohio State University, the U.S., </b>have developed an underwater vibration sensor that enables automated and contactless voice recognition. A paper authored by Prof. Uttam Manna and research scholars Debasmita Sarkar, Rajan Singh, Anirban Phukan, Priyam Mondal, and Prof. Roy P. Paily from IIT Guwahati, and Prof. Xiaoguang Wang and Ufuoma I. Kara from Ohio State University was published in<i> Advanced Functional Materials.</i></p>
<p><b>The IIM Bangalore Alumni Association</b> hosted IMBue 2025, its leadership conclave, which had workshops, panel discussions, and keynote speeches covering topics such as healthcare, human capital, and AI-powered future in business and leadership.</p>
<p><b>Manav Rachna University </b>organised the second Justice R.C. Lahoti Memorial Lecture. Justice Surya Kant, Judge, Supreme Court of India, spoke on From Legislation to Liberation: Strengthening Legal Aid for the Marginalised in a Changing India.</p>
<p><b>IIM Kashipur</b> hosted Sangam: The Round Table Conference on the theme <i>Work 360: People, Purpose and Planet. </i>Speakers included Ajay Pal Singh from Niva Bupa Health Insurance, Sandhya Ramesh from Godrej Consumer Products, Ankit Sharma from Cosmo First, Akshay Rakshit from BMW Group India among others.</p>
<p><b>GITAM Deemed-to-be University, </b>in partnership with the<b> Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), </b>hosted a two-day seminar on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Farmers: From Champaran to Chitrakoot. Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma inaugurated the conference.</p>
<p><b>Ashoka University’s Office of Learning Support</b> hosted the third edition of its annual conclave on inclusive higher education: Advancing Together: A Networked Approach to Inclusive Higher Education. Participants included Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary, DEPwD, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment; Sunil Kumar Barnwal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Education; Neha Trivedi, Founder of Spandan; Ajay Gupta, co-founder of Rishihood University; and Trupthi Sridhar, Diversity Programmes Advisor, Dell Technologies.</p>
<p><b>Target Learning Ventures</b>, in collaboration with <b>Cyberfrat</b>, hosted an immersive Cyber Safety Awareness webinar to equip students with the tools and mindset needed to navigate today’s online threats responsibly. The focus was on building digital hygiene, recognising cyber risks, and promoting safe online behaviour.</p>
<p><b>BITS Pilani </b>has recorded an 80.08% placement rate for the 2025 graduating batch. Over 500 organisations such as Tower Research, Quadeye, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, BCG, Kearney, Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, Qualcomm, and Micron participated in the process.</p>
<p><b>The School of Liberal Studies (SoLS), BML Munjal University (BMU), </b>hosted the sixth edition of its SoLS Conversations on The Second Battle of Kalkaji: Imagination and Storytelling. Nobel Prize-winning economist and author Abhijit V. Banerjee, celebrated graphic novelist and filmmaker Sarnath Banerjee, and National Geographic Explorer and environmental chronicler Arati Kumar-Rao participated.</p>
<p><b>The Ashok Malhotra Charitable Trust</b> (MBD Group) launched Robotics Lab on Wheels, a new initiative to provide robotics and STEM education to students in budget schools in urban and rural India. School principals and students were given a first-hand experience of the van-mounted mobile lab, which is equipped with Arduino boards, sensors, motors, and robotics kits.</p>
<p><b>Awards</b></p>
<p><b>Team Finavat from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow,</b> won the national cyber hackathon organised by Canara Bank, under the guidance of the Department of Financial Services and Indian Banks’ Association. <b>Team Pindrop from Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune, came second while Team Jigyasa from</b><b>IIIT Kottayam</b>, came third.</p>
<p><b>Greenwood High</b> hosted the Fr. George Hess Memorial Literary Competitions 2025. Students from the school won at various events. Aditi Kumar(Class 12) won first place in Creative Writing, Nirmanyu Kishore and Abhay Rao (Class 12) won first place in Quiz and Vivaan Kohli (Class 7) and Aarnish Padhy (Class 8) were second. Saanjh Shailen Pandya (Class 12) was third in Drawing and Painting. Over 192 students representing 71 schools from Karnataka participated.</p>
<p><b>Team Technopaths (Advithiya Duddu, Aditya Jemshetty, Rushil Bakori) from Manipal Institute of Technology Bengaluru</b> came first in HackSky 2025, a national cybersecurity hackathon organised by Manipal Institute of Technology Bengaluru campus in partnership with Kaspersky.<b> Team PowerRangers from Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute and Team Ghost Protocol from Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering</b> were second and third respectively.</p>
<p><b>Team Aprameya (Singavarapu Sai Revanth, Akula Venkata Praveen, Atmakuri Komal Sai Raj, and Kamsani Yashwanth Chowdary), students of KL Deemed-to-be University, Vijayawada</b>, were placed third at the Urban Vision Hackathon 2025, organised by IISc Bengaluru.</p>
<p><b>IIT (Indian School of Mines)-Dhanbad</b> has been recognised as one of the seven Centres of Excellence (CoEs) under the National Critical Mineral Mission, launched by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India.</p>
<p><b>Sanjay Ghodawat University</b> was ranked among the Top 200 Active Local Chapters in India by SWAYAM-NPTEL (IIT Madras) for the January-April 2025 semester. The university was awarded an ‘A’ grade.</p>
<p><b>BIMTECH </b>was recognised under the Innovations That Inspire and Influential Leaders initiatives by Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACDSB) International.</p>
<p><b>Amity University Maharashtra, Mumbai, </b>obtained a Tier-I certificate of its programme under the Washington Accord, especially in Biotechnology. Students from this programme will have access to international study and will be considered for international job opportunities in any of the 25 Washington Accord member countries.</p>
<p><b>Orientations and convocations</b></p>
<p><b>The Department of Commerce, Faculty of Commerce and Business, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delh</b>i, hosted an orientation programme for the M.Com. and MBA (IB/HRD/BA) Class of 2025, in partnership with Smiling Tree.
