<p><b>Who Are The Next Idiots? initiative</b></p>
<p>ideaForge Technology has launched the Who Are the Next Idiots? Programme in collaboration with IIT-Bombay. The six-month programme invites undergraduate and postgraduate students and recent graduates to participate individually or in teams of up to 3-4 members and submit original deep-tech ideas in domains such as robotics, energy systems, advanced materials, and autonomous technologies. <p><b>Admissions and scholarships</b></p>
<p><b>World University of Design,</b> Sonipat, has opened admissions to its UG across Design, Business, Architecture, Fashion, Communication, and Visual &; Performing Arts. The institute has also launched a B.Tech in Computer Scienceand Design (CSD), which bridges coding and computational skills with design thinking.</p>
<p><b>Eligibility:</b> Minimum 50% in Class 12 (any stream), followed by an aptitude test and interview. Valid scores in UCEED, NID, NIFT, and JEE (for select programmes) or WUD Aptitude Test (WUDAT) 2026, which will be held on April 11 and 12.</p>

<p><b>The University of Sheffield,</b> the U.K., invites applications for its M.Sc. Computer Science with Speech and Natural Language Processing, beginning in September 2026. Scholarships are available.</p>

<p><b>Victoria University, </b>Australia, has launched the VU Block Model India Scholarship for eligible Indian students who submit their applications before April 15 for the first intake in September 2026. <p><b>Events</b></p>
<p><b>Techno India University</b>, West Bengal, along with the <b>Indian Institute of Materials Management, Centre for Research in Materials Management, and The Association of Engineers, India,</b> organised a global summit on Redesigning Supply Chains for Emerging Economies. The event also saw the formal renewal of the MoU between IIMM and Techno India University to conduc cutting-edge research, foster innovation, and develop practical solutions in the supply chain and materials management.</p>
<p><b>Goa Institute of Management</b> held its convocation for 617 students. Sunil Gupta, MD and CEO, Yotta Data Services, delivered the convocation address.</p>
<p><b>Galgotias University</b> held its 10th convocation for 6,656 students. A. S. Kiran Kumar, former Chairman of ISRO, was the chief guest.</p>
<p><b>The SRM School of Law, SRMIST</b>, Chennai, hosted SRM SOLMUN’26, a Model United Nations conference, organised by Forum Justitia, on the theme Forge. Negotiate. Lead. <p><b>CMR Institute of Technology, </b>Bengaluru, hosted Cultura 2026, a college fest attended by over 5,000 students from 100 colleges. The programme featured events in robotics, coding, circuit building, sustainability projects, and performing arts.</p>
<p><b>Universal AI University</b> launched Gramin AI Yojana to teach basic AI skills to rural communities, focusing on practical applications to boost economic activities. First- and second-year B.Tech students designed and delivered AI training programmes for this initiative.</p>
<p><b>Bitget </b>and<b> IIT Delhi </b>hosted a Blockchain4Youth seminar for around 280 students on blockchain fundamentals, decentralised systems, and Web3 opportunities. Speakers included Vinayak Kalra, founder of KaiFoundry, and Sahil Thakur, founder of BlockseBlock.</p>
<p><b>IIT Mandi </b>celebrated its 17th Foundation Day, with industry, academic, and research leaders emphasising the impact of AI, robotics, and emerging technologies on India’s growth. Kris Gopalakrishnan, Infosys co-founder, was the chief guest. Prof. Oussama Khatib, Director of Stanford Robotics Lab, the U.S., was the Distinguished guest. The institute’s Technology Innovation Hub concluded its three-day Hive 3.0 conclave on Collaborative Intelligence, focusing on Multimodal AI.</p>
<p><b>Smiling Tree </b>has launched a green initiative combining plantation drives, awareness campaigns, and community engagement to promote sustainable living along with educational institutions, corporates, and local bodies.</p>
<p><b>FLAME University</b> hosted the National Conference of Psychology 2026 on Psychology at the Workplace, exploring how research can shape workplace practices. Keynote sessions were delivered by Prof. Pooja Purang from IIT Bombay and Seemantinee Khot, a sustainable development professional and independent consultant.</p>
<p><b>Samsung R and D Institute India,</b> Bengaluru, has onboarded NITTE Meenakshi Institute of Technology; Christ (Deemed to be University); RV College of Engineering; SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur; BMS College of Engineering, and Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering as part of its Samsung Innovation Campus programme.</p>
<p>Students of <b>Birla Open Minds International School</b>, Kurnool, visited an old-age home and interacted with residents and presented a play based on social dogmas, as part of the Soul Science Project.</p>
<p><b>Jaipuria Institute of Management Lucknow</b> organised E-Summit 2026 on entrepreneurship with a keynote address by Sarvesh Goel, Chairman, Mansingh Goel Group. <p><b>The Department of English and the Department of Teacher Education, Nagaland University</b>, Kohima, organised a training programme and workshop on Social Empowerment and Beggary Prevention. A research team from the university along with others from PNG Government PG College Ramnagar, Nainital, used advanced Geographic Information System modelling and remote sensing techniques to investigate environmental change and degradation in Kohima. The findings were published in Environmental Monitoring and Assessment.</p>
<p><b>The School of Management and Entrepreneurship, Shiv Nadar University Delhi-NCR</b>, hosted a seminar on Governance and Regulation in a VUCA World: Understanding the Business of Government. <p>Researchers from <b>NIT Rourkela</b> have developed an AI-enabled system that can track human sleep postures. A paper co-authored by Prof. Saptarshi Chatterjee, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering; Shiladitya Mondal, B.Tech student; and Debangshu Dey, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, Jadavpur University, was published in IEEE Sensors Journal</p>

<p><b>K.P.B. Hinduja College of Commerce</b>, Mumbai, has appointed Navin M. Punjabi as the Principal. He was earlier Vice-Principal, Professor, and Director of Placements at H.R. College of Commerce &; Economics.</p>
<p><b>Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Technology</b>, Mumbai, concluded its HACK4INNOVATION 2026, organised by the VESIT Renaissance Cell, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Mumbai, Ghatkopar West, and supported by the institute’s Innovation and Incubation Cell, and Internal Quality Assurance Cell. Students from 83 colleges participated.</p>
<p><b>Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women, Chennai,</b> hosted an academic programme following the signing of an MoU with the Green Mathematical Institute, Chennai. This involves conducting a specialised bridge course for B.Sc. Maths students, a school outreach programme to foster interest in STEM subjects, and a career guidance workshop for second- and third-year students.</p>
<p><b>Institute of Management Studies Noida </b>hosted <i>Management Nexus</i>, its inter-collegiate fest, in which around<b></b>150 teams and over 200 students from 65 colleges across Delhi-NCR participated.
