Panchkula Educator’s Inspiring Journey: From Learning a New Language to Teaching Hindi Globally
PANCHKULA: While the COVID-19 pandemic brought many aspects of life to a halt, some individuals seized the opportunity to acquire new skills and redefine their paths. One such inspiring tale comes from a schoolteacher in Panchkula, Dr. Anu Gupta, who harnessed the pandemic’s downtime to learn French. Today, she is not only proficient in French but has also transformed into a Hindi tutor, reaching learners in over a dozen countries.
Dr. Anu Gupta, a teacher at Sector-4, Sutlej Public School, initially dedicated her free time during the pandemic to mastering the French language. She then took a bold step by sharing her knowledge on social media platforms, initially uploading videos for French learners. Over time, her channel garnered the attention of foreign individuals eager to learn Hindi.
Over the past three years, Dr. Anu Gupta has become a virtual Hindi tutor, imparting lessons to more than 700 learners from diverse backgrounds. Her audience extends beyond India’s borders, with over 2,200 French speakers from countries including France, Africa, Morocco, Cambodia, and Belgium seeking her guidance in learning Hindi.
Notably, Dr. Anu’s husband, Dr. Amit Gupta, an employee of the Government of Haryana serving as Director Finance in HBVN (Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam), supported her in this endeavor. Dr. Anu’s passion for teaching led her to join Sutlej Public School as a French teacher in 2022. After her school hours, she continues to teach Hindi to French-speaking learners through social media platforms, including YouTube, where she has uploaded more than 300 instructional videos.
