ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s former Prime Minister and renowned cricketer, Imran Khan, has been acquitted of charges related to incitement to murder. The court’s decision to dismiss the case comes as a notable relief for Khan and his supporters.

The case in question had originally led to the registration of an FIR against Imran Khan. However, this FIR has now been rejected by the court, marking a pivotal moment in the legal proceedings. Naeem Panjutha, the legal counsel representing Imran Khan, took to Twitter to share this information. In a tweet posted on Monday, Panjutha confirmed that the court had indeed cleared Imran Khan of the murder charges.

“A false case was filed against Khan Sahib on Bijli Road inside Quetta. Today, that FIR was dismissed. Today he was acquitted in that case,” tweeted Naeem Panjutha.

Notably, This legal victory comes against the backdrop of a challenging period for Imran Khan. Following the downfall of his government in April 2022, he has found himself embroiled in a series of legal battles. With over 100 cases looming over him, the court’s decision to acquit him of the murder charges is undoubtedly a significant respite.
