Charges Framed Against Jagtar Singh Hawara in 18-Year-Old Arms Export Case

<p> <br &sol;>&NewLine;<br &sol;>&NewLine; &Tab; Jagtar Singh Hawara<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&Tab; Next Hearings Scheduled to be held on September 14 and 18&Tab; &Tab;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&Tab;&Tab;&Tab;&Tab;&Tab;&Tab;MOHALI&colon; The charges were formally framed against Jagtar Singh Hawara&period; The court of Additional District Sessions Judge Krishan Kumar Singla presided over the hearing&comma; during which charges were established against Hawara under the Arms Act&comma; Section 120B&comma; and Sections 4 and 5 of the Explosive Substances Act&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The charges in question were filed in relation to the case registered at Sadar Kharar police station&comma; as well as the case lodged at Sohana police station&period; In the Sadar Kharar police station case&comma; Jagtar Singh Hawara faces charges under the Arms Act&comma; and the Explosive Substances Act&period; Meanwhile&comma; for the case registered at Sohana police station&comma; the original file is still awaited&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The court has scheduled the next hearings for both cases on September 14 and 18&period; The legal proceedings have their origins in a case registered against Jagtar Singh Hawara and other individuals back in 2005&comma; under the Explosive Substances Act of 1908 and the Arms Act&period; Interestingly&comma; at the time of the registration of this case&comma; Hawara was neither arrested nor were any recoveries made from him&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Similarly&comma; another case dates back to 1998&comma; where Jagtar Singh Hawara was named in the records of the Sohana police station&period; In this case&comma; charges were filed under sections 124A&comma; 153A&comma; 225&comma; 511&comma; and 120B&period; Once again&comma; Hawara remained unarrested during this period&comma; and no recoveries were associated with him in connection to this case&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Notably&comma; The legal proceedings have caught the attention of activists from the &&num;8220&semi;Front for the Release of the Captive Singhs&period;&&num;8221&semi; They have voiced their demand for Jagtar Singh Hawara to be physically present during court proceedings&period; Additionally&comma; they have emphasized the necessity for Hawara&&num;8217&semi;s transfer to a jail located in Ropar or Patiala&period; This demand is rooted in the fact that the FIRs were registered in the Mohali and Chandigarh regions&comma; thereby suggesting that Hawara should be detained in jails situated within the same area&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&Tab;&Tab;&Tab;&Tab;&Tab;&Tab; end-of <&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;
